Happy New Year

Wow I can't believe another year has gone by. I think the older you get the faster time goes by I wish I could slow it down a little. What will 2009 Bring? Only God Knows. I am excited to see what he has in store for My Family and I. I will have to admit I was a Little worried about our recent move and I took it a while to sink in. but I am starting to see the big picture.
This New job of Mine wasn't exactly What I had in mind for a job for myself but what a blessing it is turning out to be. I love what I am doing. and How great is it to be doing Gods work and getting paid for it. Also The church that we have found here is great. (which lead me to the job I have now) The girls are in the Awanas program and are loving it and doing quite well in it. I go to the Wednesday night prayer meeting while they are in Awanas. I will have to admit that at first it was quite intimidating. We get into groups and pray( It is called corporate prayer) I am not a a very good public prayer. It has turned out to be Great for Me. Each week we learn something else about prayer and how to pray.
The next step is to get Marty working here. He is still working in Mesa during the week and coming home on the week-ends. I don't think it will be to much longer be fore he starts working Show low.
This whole adventure that we have been on has really taught me to be patient with Gods work in us and to rely on Him. After all He does know what He is doing.

Happy Birthday Leigha

Leigha turned 9 on December 19th! I can't believe my youngest is already 9. Wow,

We never do big birthday parties. We let who's ever birthday it is decide what family activity they want to do for there birthday. Leigha decided she wanted a cowboy Birthday. So we made a cowboy boot cake and cowboy beans along with cowboy burgers. ( She has been going through My cook books).

My new job

Hopeful Treasures Resale Boutique is a new resale store on the mountain. It's mission is to offer shelter, love and hope to the moms and babies of Hope House Maternity Home.
Many things make this boutique stand out, most notably their partnership with Scottsdale Bible Church. Once a quarter, the church provides a semi in their parking lot and people bring their secondhand items. Scottsdale is a mecca for designer labels and high-end home furnishings, so not surprisingly, each shipment contains designer clothing, quality furniture, toys, decorator items and more.
Hopeful Treasures Resale Boutique also houses a unique program called Double Blessing Gift Baskets. These baskets are created by the young moms of Hope House Maternity Home. They are beautiful and full of name-brand items like Gold Canyon candles and Avon. The young moms earn a percentage which goes into their savings, and the rest goes toward the home. The residents of Hope House also volunteer at the boutique to gain retail experience and job training.
Hopeful Treasures Boutique and Hope House Maternity Home is a part of Living Hope Women's Centers which consists of three crisis pregnancy centers in Show Low, Springerville and Whiteriver. This ministry offers pre-natal and parenting education, a fatherhood program, pregnancy testing and ultrasounds as well as housing through the maternity home. It is a privately supported Christian ministry, and all the services are free.
Hopeful Treasures Resale Boutique always needs volunteers. They also need donations -

More snow

More snow and more snow. We finally had a chance to use the plow we bought for our for our Four wheeler. Marty was very anxious to try it out.
We woke up at about 4:00 in the morning to a sick Kid (always Fun).It was a good thing because the power went out for six hours. We tried to start a fire but believe it or not our chimney froze up with ice so our house filled up with smoke. So there we were at five in the morning during a snow storm with no power no heat with our doors and windows open trying to get rid of the smoke. Sounds fun don't it.When it was light enough we all went out side to enjoy the snow. Of course the one that was up sick was the first one out the door.

It was pretty good. We were waiting for Our check and out come the wait staff with these crazy hats and singing "Happy anniversary to you". Marty Thought I tipped them off.But our waitress had overheard us talking about our anniversary. So It wasn't me! Ha Ha

Getting ready for christmas

Our Thanksgiving was great. We cooked way to much food of course. Our turkey was the best I ever had. I was watching Rachel Ray and some chef on there said if you want a juicy Turkey you should brine it in sweet sea water( put your turkey in a cooler with water kosher salt and sugar)for 24 hours and then deep fry it. Wow was it ever juicy.

After eating a late lunch we went on a four wheeler(quad) ride in the snow. It was raining a little when we started and the it turned into snow which made for a wet, soupy, cold, and fun ride. we rode for about two hours It was a beautiful ride.

Normally the girls and I stay home the day after Thanksgiving and stay in our jammas(P.Js)and decorate the house for Christmas. The girls call it "Jamma Day" This year I thought I would be adventurous and and go shopping for some jeans for Leigha and I. Walmart had them for $8 and we really needed them so I thought why not how busy could it be. Boy was I wrong. I felt like a cow in a cattle shoot. People were running through the door.It was crazy. You would have thought they were giving away things for free. I got hit in the heel twice by a cart. This was my first "black Fri." experience and it will be my last.
